MURDER IN THE BAYOU
Five-part true crime docu-series, MURDER IN THE BAYOU, will premiere only on Stan on 14 September and is from director Matthew Galkin (Kevorkian) and author Ethan Brown – whose New York Times Best Selling book Murder In The Bayou is the inspiration for the series. The docu-series investigates the unsolved murders of eight women whose bodies were discovered between 2005 and 2009 in drainage canals and on desolate back roads in and around the town of Jennings, Louisiana in rural Jefferson Davis Parish.
In examining the lives of the young female victims – and the violent sex and drug trade they were a part of – the series uncovers the secrets of this troubled town lurking just below the surface. These discoveries lead to even more shocking revelations in the “Jeff Davis 8” case, exposing corruption, bad actors and institutional injustices that have left the citizens of Jennings still searching for truth.
WORK IN PROGRESS
The new half-hour comedy series created by Chicago improv mainstays Abby McEnany and Tim Mason, and co-written by Lilly Wachowski (The Matrix, Sense8), will premiere December 9, 2019 only on Stan.
A funny and uniquely human comedy, WORK IN PROGRESS features McEnany as a 45-year-old self-identified fat, queer dyke from Chicago whose misfortune and despair unexpectedly lead her to a vibrantly transformative relationship. Chicago-based performer Karin Anglin co-stars alongside Celeste Pechous, with Julia Sweeney (Saturday Night Live, Shrill) appearing in a crucial role as herself. Theo Germaine (The Politician) will also appear as a guest star.

THE GOOD LORD BIRD is told from the point of view of Onion (Joshua Johnson-Lionel, Blackish), a fictional enslaved boy, who is part of Brown’s motley crew of abolitionist soldiers during the time of Bleeding Kansas, eventually participating in the famous 1859 raid on the Army depot at Harpers Ferry. Brown’s raid failed to initiate the slave revolt he intended, but was the instigating event that started the Civil War.Mark Richard is the showrunner and executive produces with Ethan Hawke, who together wrote the first episode of the series.
Screen Actors Guild Award winner Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me by Your Name, The Shape of Water, A Serious Man) and Sofia Black-D’Elia (The Night Of, Skins) have signed on to star in the highly anticipated limited series airing only on Stan, YOUR HONOR, starring Oscar nominee and Emmy and Tony winner Bryan Cranston. Stuhlbarg will play Tommy, the much-feared head of a crime family.
The 10-episode series is a legal thriller that rips through all strata of New Orleans society. Cranston stars as a respected judge whose son Adam (Hunter Doohan) is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices. Black-D’Elia will portray Frannie, Adam’s girlfriend. YOUR HONOR is executive produced by Emmy nominees Robert and Michelle King (The Good Fight, The Good Wife, Evil) and Liz Glotzer (Evil, The Good Fight). Emmy nominated writer/director Edward Berger (Patrick Melrose) is directing the first three episodes and executive producing.
YOUR HONOR, is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with King Size Productions, is being adapted from the Israeli series Kvodo, created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach.
