Cyberpunk 2077 cancelled: war against the ‘racist’ and ‘transphobic’ game

CD Projekt Red called “conservative and regressive” and their game Cyberpunk 2077 is being slammed for being “racist and transphobic”.

Cyberpunk 2077 is only about a month away from releasing worldwide and the the LGBTQ community, specifically transgender people, are demanding some big changes be made or it gets cancelled.

Liberals are trying to find anything they possibly can that they may consider offensive and problematic. Users are on the far-left leaning gaming forum ResetEra have many issues with the game: the theme, the setting, character creation, and even one of the cars shown in the game trailer.

Can cars be racist?

Matthew McCarty, an avid CDPR (CD Projekt Red) fan, took to Twitter and pointed out the fact that the car seen in Cyberpunk 2077 looks similar to the in Dukes of Hazzard; a show about a redneck family that was universally enjoyed by many until it was called racist by the left-wing blogs like Kotaku for sporting the confederate flag on its roof.

Cyberpunk 2077 car looks like the Dodge Charger, and car is called racist.

Progressive saw his post and immediately lashed out in outrage atr the developer for using a “racist car” in their game and are demanding that they remove it.

CDPR said to be “fully going bigotry on all levels” for using Dodge Charger in game.

The car in question, however, is a very popular American muscle car known as the Dodge Charger. The vintage car has been in many movies and television series. It’s not a “racist car” as these outraged individuals claim.

The tweet later appeared on the far-left gaming forum ResetEra where a user people were actively calling for Cyberpunk 2077 to be cancelled.

The game, according to them, is not just racist but also transphobic, too conservative, regressive, and bigoted.

CDPR on ResetEra
ResetEra calls CDPR “regressive conservatives” and Cyberpunk 2077 “racist, transphobic and bigoted.”

“Why would would the company want to invite a discussion about a racist car, though?” A disgruntled liberal posted on the forum.

“They can’t be naïve enough to think people don’t know the troubled history of the General Lee. There are plenty of iconic racists designs, doesn’t mean they have to be paid homage to, unless you want to cater to a certain crowd.”

CDPR are regressive conservatives, they say.

“Or the other simple explanation is that CDPR wanted the drama from the start, with the half naked woman with blades, stereotypical racial depictions of a South Asian taxi driver, voodoo gang, Latino stereotypical caricature character who drops Spanish words every second to remind you they’re Latino, the barrage of transphobia on all levels, and now the General Lee reference. It might be time to accept that CD Projekt Red are conservative and their regressive politics bleed through all over ever since The Witcher 1.”

The game was considered ‘transphobic’ despite its very customisable character creation feature because it ties pronouns to the voice tone. CDPR obviously decided to do this because a lot of the game is voiced and NPCs will use gendered pronouns depending on which voice actor you choose.

For the transgender community, though, this just isn’t enough.

Pronouns are not enough to be trans inclusive.

“Voice pitch is a sensitive issue in the trans community and with transition as HRT has no bearing on your voice when transitioning as a trans woman, or toward transfeminine identities.” A concerned trans individual shared on Reset Era.

“As a direct result it becomes something that many trans people are conscious of when they attempt to pass, as it’s an element that works against you when people frequently associate a deep voice to being a man, and a high voice to being a women.”

Cyberpunk 2077 pronouns character customisation
Cyberpunk 2077 allows you to pick your pronouns, but trans community still outraged and say it is ‘transphobic’.

“This in a very real sense is an issue of safety for trans people offline, as having a deeper voice while presenting femme can result in abuse. However it isn’t an immediate black or white picture when it comes to how trans people feel about their voice outside of those issues.”

BREAKING: Sony responsible for Cyberpunk 2077 delay.

“Your voice is as personal to you as anything else, and there are many trans people that would prefer to be able to feel comfortable using their real voice as opposed to putting in considerable effort toward changing it in the hope of better acceptance.”

Cis women can’t cosplay trans women.

This person was also outraged they they chose a female as the winner in their cosplay competition.

Russian-Estonian cosplay artist Yugoro took home the first prize in the Cyberpunk 2077 cosplay costume with her version of Chromanticure cosplay.

The trans community was outraged claiming that “a cis woman cannot cosplay as a transgender woman.”

The gameplay mechanics are problematic.

Yet another issue that the trans community takes with Cyberpunk 2077 is that the game mechanic reduces your ‘humanity points’ the more cybernetic body mods you install on your body.

I mean, really, of course a vanilla human is going to be a little freaked out and have trust issues if they are talking to a transgender woman with a machine gun for a penis, but I digress.

CD Projekt Red have relentless apologised to the trans community and tried to appease them by being the first game to include transgender characters with pronouns and fully customisable junk, but it will never be enough. They still want Cyberpunk 2077 cancelled.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases exactly one month from now, on November 19th, 2020. If this stuff doesn’t bother you and you’re still very excited to play it, you can pre-order you copy today.
