Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 have had to endure a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. The game has been the centre of controversy many times and has been delayed 3 times in one year… but it’s almost here!

NEWS: People aren’t happy that The Last of Us Part II won ALL GoTY awards.

CD Prokekt Red (CDPR) have earned the trust of gamers with their The Witcher game series. The developers managed to develop one of the greatest and beautiful — not to mention massive — open world role-playing games with a rather small team, and they also stayed far away from questionable practices used by many bigger developers today like the dreaded microtransactions.

To boot CD Projekt Red also released all of the expansive The Witcher 3 DLC, including The Hunt, for free on all platforms. They were making a statement against greedy publishers and their fans loved them for it.

CD Projekt Red have also promised free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, but also intend do release release paid DLC so expansive it will almost be like an entirely new game.

In turn the developer has earned the trust of their fans and despite several delays people are still very hyped for Cyberpunk 2077 and are already calling it Game of The Year despite ever having played it.

Can’t be Game of The Year 2020.

Sadly, Cyberpunk 2077 is out of the running for Game of the Year 2020 because if its last delay, a delay believed to be forced by Sony due to the PlayStation 5’s backward compatibility issues… but now release date is almost upon us and fans are losing it on social media.

#Cyberpunk2077 is trending on Twitter with over 36,000 tweets proving that this game is more anticipated than Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II.

Although bigshot streamers and game reviewers already received their copies of Cyberpunk 2077, some retailers are breaking the street date and ordinary plebs like you and me are also getting their hands on the game.

CD Projekt Red (CDPR) are aware that some retailers have broken the street date and have asked lucky early adopters to be mindful when creating video content or livestreaming the game.

Don’t stream until December 9th… or else!

“We’re getting closer and closer to launch and chances are some of you might get your hands on a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 before release day. However difficult this is for us to achieve, our ambition is for gamers all around the world to have the same — spoiler free — at the time the game releases,” the statement reads.

It concludes: “This is why we kindly ask you NOT TO stream/let’s play, or release any similar content before December 9th, 12PM CET/3AM PST. We will send MAX-TAC (you know, the guys who take down videos) after everyone who does. After that date, however, we would love if you’d stream everything like there’s no tomorrow. It’s 2020, who knows, maybe there isn’t.”

Some people have reacted poorly to CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR) statement, but other influencers as well as games journalist are also on a strict embargo until this time.
