On Monday, February 17th, Harrison Ford appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and during his interview the host brought up Donald J. Trump.

Kimmel alleged that Trump said the movie was ‘the best call ever’ obviously alluding to the call with the Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky. After Kimmel’s political rant it appeared that Harrison Ford was in tears, laughing.

Ford has criticised Donald Trump in the past on climate change. Last year he pressed Trump on the importance of acknowledging climate change in a speech on the closing day of the World Government Summit in Dubai. “Around the world, elements of leadership — including in my own country — to preserve their state and the status quo, deny or denigrate science,” Ford said. “They are on the wrong side of history.”

Ford doesn’t care about Star Wars

His jab at Trump comes right after he was asked his opinion on Luke Skywalker being a force ghost to which the actor responded, “I don’t know what a force ghost is, and I don’t really care.”

This isn’t the first time he has brushed off questions about his role as the iconic space scavenger, Han Solo. Ford’s general opinion of the Star Wars is not a positive one, as he considers most of them to be ‘geeks’.

“Harrison Ford doesn’t have an opinion unless he is paid enough to have one,” a disgruntled fan responded on Twitter.

Some people think that this may the very reason for Ford’s sudden interest in politics; if he doesn’t have an opinion on the film franchise that made him famous, why should he care about things he’s never expressed any interest in before.
