Colin Farrell is kinda recognisable as The Penguin in The Batman 2021

It’s not a bird. It’s not a plane. It’s the Penguin. That’s really Colin Farrell as The Penguin in The Batman teaser/trailer.

People weren’t sure whether that was Colin Farrell in some heavy makeup as The Penguin in the teaser to Matt Reeves’ 2021 The Batman teaser, but now we know it is.

NEWS: Wonder Woman 1984 takes shots at Trump and capitalism.

DC and Warner Bros premiered the very first teaser for Matt Reeves’ The Batman but it didn’t really reveal too much. That’s because the film is in production. But we did get to see what Robert Pattinson looks as Bruce Wayne and Batman and, more interestingly, what Collin Farrel looks like like as The Riddler.

Matt Reeves has promised that he will go back to the roots with his film and explore Batman’s detective skills; he is supposed to be the world’s greatest detective after all.

Paul Dano as Edward Nygma (The Riddler) in The Batman

Additionally, Reeves announced that there will be two (three if you count Catwoman) villains in his film: Colin Farrel as The Penguin and Paul Dano as The Riddler. Many people believe they got a glimpse The Penguin in the teaser, and that how now been confirmed. It is Colin Farrell as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, better known as The Penguin. He’s just completely unrecognisable.

There will be blood

We thought it was Paul Dano’s scary Riddler in The Batman teaser, but we were wrong. Ooops!

We also get a glimpse of the Riddler, an unhinged serial killer in Matt Reeves’ The Batman who mocks the caped crusader by leaving him little riddles that he must solve in order to find and stop him.

However, what Bruce Wayne doesn’t know is that he’s playing right into The Riddler’s trap as he has much more sinister plan.

We can see both The Penguin and Riddler in the two minute short teaser. The guy in the creepy green suit is Riddler, and the chubby guy with the disfigured and badly scarred face is, in actual fact, Colin Farrell as The Penguin.

Actually, in the most recent picture of Colin Farrell walking his dog, he looks exactly like The Penguin does in the trailer. I think we just forgot that he’s 44-year-old. He probably deliberately gained a bit of weight for the part, too.

Well, I guess he kind of looks like The Penguin here. Also his sweat patch looks like the Batman logo.

The 36-year-old actor best known for his role in Little Miss Sunshine plays a genius Zodiac Killer-like murderer as Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

We were first in doubt that the disfigured and sleazy looking man was Colin Farrell because he joined production while The Batman was being filmed, and we weren’t sure whether or not they had completed shooting his parts.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman — starring Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell — is still being filmed but is expected to premiere sometimes in 2021.

Note from the editor: This article was originally called “Paul Dano is unrecognisable as the Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman” but we’ve made the necessary updates once it was confirmed that Colin Farrell was in the teaser.
