If you watch through the end credits of the new film you might just spot a transgender Charlie’s Angel. The new flick certainly sends a strong message.

Charlie’s Angels (2019) may not be the most exciting movie to at the cinema right now, but it is certainly something different. The classic 70s television series turned blockbuster has finally got the face-lift it didn’t need. The new Charlie’s Angels is the most politically charged movie out of the lot and when it is not kicking guys in the nuts its smothering you with a message of diversity. But the shocking revelation comes during the end credits.

From beginning to end Charlie’s Angel tries to make women feel empowered; it tells women that they can do anything better than men, and that they are smarter and stronger too. And after 2 hours of kicking patriarchy in the nuts we find out that you don’t have to have female genitalia to be an Angel!

During the end credits we see Elena go through her Angel training and one of her mentors is a former Angel, Laverne Cox. Laverne Cox is a loud and proud transgender woman.

Laverne Cox rose to prominence with her role as Sophia Burset on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, becoming the first openly transgender person to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in any acting category.
