Wonder Woman 3 already in production might be in theatres 2021

Warner Bros have fast tracked production of Wonder Woman 3 after the success of the second film. Aim to have it in cinemas after Christmas 2021.

Wonder Woman 1984 was the biggest is the biggest post-pandemic blockbuster film. It demolished the box office clearing USD$85 million on opening weekend in cinemas alone. Warner Bros are already working on a threequel.

Up until today there was no official confirmation that there would even be another Wonder Woman film, but it has now been officially confirmed that Gal Gadot will return as Diana Prince in the third instalment directed by Patty Jenkins.

Wonder Woman 1984 premiered in theatres as well as on the US-Only pay-per-view streaming service HBO Max last Friday. Warner Bros were quick to confirm a third film after seeing the impressive box office numbers and are now fast-tracking production.

“As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of¬†Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real life Wonder Women — Gal and Patty — who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy, Warner Bros. chief Toby Emmerich said in a statement to Variety.

Sources at Warner Bros allege that Warner Bros aim to start shooting the new film as early as March 2021 and have high hopes that the film will be in cinemas around the world just after Christmas.

“The Wonder Woman trilogy was one of the Warner Bros’ best kept secrets. They’ve already got a draft written for the third film and Patty has agreed to return to direct as early as March,” the insider said.

Disney released their new Star Wars trilogy annually which is something Warner Bros reportedly intend to do with the third and final Wonder Woman film.

Speaking of Star Wars, Disney have confirmed that a new major motion picture directed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is due out Holidays 2021.

Warner Bros have not revealed anything more about the upcoming Wonder Woman film but we can expect to hear a lot about it in the coming months.
