The Detour Season 4 ups the ante for series

The 4th season of The Detour premiered last week on Stan and, if the first episode is anything to go by, it seems season 4 will go above and beyond to be the best one yet.

The Detour is an American comedy television series created by Jason Jones and Samantha Bee. It’s about a family that goes on a vacation road trip that quickly skids out of control. It stars the creator himself, Jones, Natalie Zea, Ashley Gerasimovich and Liam Carroll.

Did you know?

The show premiered on Australia’s streaming service, Stan, back in 2016 and was met with praise by both critics and viewers – and it is obvious why. Apart from the occasional and forced political talking points, the show doesn’t take itself at all seriously and allows for some big laughs. That’s why it feels a little weird to hear an extremely dysfunctional, and criminal(?) family lecture its audience on morals. Fortunately, those scenes are few and far between.

What really makes The Detour stand out from the rest is its block buster style production quality and cinematic execution. Every episode is like a mini feature film. The show is like a cocktail of soe comedy greats; imagine if We’re The Millers and The Hangover had a baby… ever week. That’s pretty much what The Detour is in a nutshell.

The Detour Season 4 brings the biggest laughs

The Detour season 4 continues exactly where season 3 ended. Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich – who we feel should play Ellie in The Last of Us movie) has gone missing and the family are dead-set on finding her and bringing her home. The Parker family leave no stone unturned as they travel all around the world, following clues left by Delilah, in their painstaking search for their daughter.

You can binge watch all 3 seasons of The Detour and catch a new episode of season 4 every week on Stan for as little as $10.00 a month.
