It has been 12 years and now Veronica Mars is ready to get back to cracking crimes. Season 4 premieres later this month, and we’re looking back at the star-studded cast.

Veronica Mars’ very first episode aired all the way back on September 22, 2005. Despite its critical success and overwhelmingly positive reception – currently sitting at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes – and amazing cast, they cancelled the show after 3 seasons. In spite of the show’s stellar rating, it just wasn’t able to pull in the viewers it deserved and that was because it didn’t really fit in with the CW niche demographic. It later exploded in popularity and in 2014 they made a fan funded movie. And now, there’s a brand new limited series on the way!

Fans should be excited! Kristen Bell told us that the new series is going to be a whole lot darker and cinematic. It revolves around a serial killer in Neptune who is murdering spring breakers. This limited series takes place five years after the film and will “take Veronica Mars back to its hardcore So-Cal noir roots”.

While we wait in bated breath for season 4 to premiere exclusively on Stan (or Hulu if you live in the States) on July 27, I decided to take a look back at the star-studded cast to see who is returning and what they’ve been up to in the meantime.
