Deliveroo has partnered with the world-renowned astrologer, Kate Arbon, to identify what our star-signs says about the foods we eat and who we should be eating them with.
Aries (March 20th – April 20th)
When it comes to culinary dishes, bland is not the go-to choice. Impatient Aries want their food now and they want it hot. In true Aries fashion, the fire sign seeks a dish that packs a punch, such as the Three Chilli Beef Vindaloo from Two Fat Indians or a Spicy Cali Burrito from Guzman y Gomez. When it comes to dining, an Aries likes to buddy up with their fellow fire star-signs, Sagittarius to enjoy the spices of life.
Taurus (April 20th – May 21st)
A Taurus appreciates a steady and stable life, enjoying every mouthful at their own pace. The earth sign enjoys the food of all varieties, with the only thing of the matter is that it’s edible, plentiful and offers comfort. Such dishes may include the classic Parma and Chips from Schnitz or a traditional Spaghetti Bolognese from Crinitis.
Chances are, the reliable Taurus will make this a regular order. Of course, Taurus’ inner circle is Cancer – a partner in crime for food appreciation.
Gemini (May 21st – June 21st)
The perfect dinner for a social Gemini is any meal that revolves around a table filled with friends and family. They love to talk and eat and can lose interest quickly, so bite-size variety is key! Dishes like Nigiri from Yoyogi or Empanadas de Atun from Spanish Tapas are likely to keep their attention. Gemini’s favourite attendee is Virgo, as there won’t be a dull moment at their dinner parties.
Cancer (June 21st – July 23rd)
Cancer’s favourite place for dinner is at home! Particularly on a quiet night in with comfort food and friends. A generous rotisserie chicken from Chargrilled Charlies would hit the spot for this water sign, finished off with a spectacular Choc-Nut Fudge Brownie Sundae from Max Brenner. Capricorn is the perfect food match to enjoy this level of comfort.
Leo (July 23rd – August 23rd)
Royal Leo is the king of the jungle and the dinner table. The regal sign expects to dine like a king and is a lover of all that is luxury (budget permitting). The majestic sign would opt for a lavish main of Blue Swimmer Crab from House of Crabs and finishes the meal with a decadent Bombe Alaska from Gelato Messina. Every King needs a Queen – or some sort of royal equivalent, at the very least. Leo’s ideal partner in the monarchy is food-aholic Taurus.
Virgo (August 23rd – September 23rd)
This earth sign naturally gravitates towards healthier food options. A discerning Virgo chooses wisely when it comes to nutrition, electing dishes such as The O.G from Fishbowl and 3x Protein Balls from Boost Juice. The intelligent water sign enjoys the company of Aquarius, a match made in heaven to discuss the merits of health and future foods.
Libra (September 23rd – October 23rd)
There’s no better dinner companion than a Libran! Known for their indecisiveness, the choice will always be yours! That said, Libran’s prioritise presentation and a balance of flavors, with particular favourites including the Mango Chicken from Dal Bukhara or a Box of 4 Macarons from LuxBite. Pieces mirrors this level of elegance and taste, making them Libra’s first point of call.
Scorpio (October 23rd – November 22nd)
A water sign, Scorpio loves to test their complex taste buds and experiment with flavours that others might turn their nose at. Scorpios can be seen enjoying the rich and strong flavours of a Boneless Tenders with Blue Cheese Sauce from Johnny Bird, or tasting a vibrant salad of Crispy Brussel Sprouts with Chilli, Pancetta and Balsamic from Fratelli Fresh. With Cancer in tow, the two passionate signs become a culinary combination of indulgence and sensuality.
Sagittarius (November 22nd – December 22nd)
This fire sign is magnetised to big, bold flavours with a flare of all things exotic and ethnic. This may take the form of a dish such as Chicken Kourdass from Moroccan Feast or Kimchi Fried Rice from Seoul Project. The adventurous Sagittarius would be best to team up with the curious Gemini to sample the foreign flavours from around the world.
Capricorn (December 22nd – January 20th)
Practical Capricorns tend to turn their nose at swaying from their reliable, tried and tested approach. While the earth sign is not immune to the intrigue of an exotic flavour, they would much prefer to seek comfort in the familiarity of a Schnitz and Chips from Schnitz or a reliable Doctor Roll from Bondi Relish. Capricorn and Taurus, alike in their thrifty nature, can host a lovely evening of delicious food with many leftovers for the following day.
Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th)
Though we’ve passed this year’s celebration of the age of Aquarius, this sign is always ahead of the game and loves to jump on the latest health trends. This water sign gravitates towards anything vegetarian or vegan such as the Tijuana Bowl from VERD or the Israeli Style Falafel from Pita Mix. The Aquarius greatly benefits from the company of a fellow food extremist, Scorpio.
Pisces (February 18th – March 20th)
Passionate Pisces is after a dream meal environment of pleasantry. Romantic and refined, Pisces happily chow down on a Duck Pappardelle sta from II Baretto followed by a Fresh Raspberry Box Brownie from Dessert Bar. A relaxed Pisces would unwind well with earth sign Taurus, and together enjoy the simpler things in life.
