VIDEO: Zoom trolls flooded Twitter hacker’s trial with loud music & porn

Last week, Twitter hacker Graham Clark appeared via Zoom for an online bond hearing. However, the trial was disrupted by hackers flooding screens with loud music and porn videos.

On July 31st, 17-year-old Graham Clark was arrested for allegedly ‘masterminding’ a Twitter hack earlier that month.

The hack in question was widely considered to have been one of the biggest data breaches in the social media site’s history. Celebrities like Elon Musk, Kanye West and 130 other high-profile accounts were compromised, all tweeting out links to the same Bitcoin scam.

The teenage hacker was arrested in his hometown of Tampa, Florida, and charged as an adult for his leading role in the data breach. Graham Clark pleaded not guilty to 30 felony charges for the hack. Clark’s bond hearing was set for August 5th, and was held online via Zoom.

While Graham Clark appeared in the courtroom himself, none of the judges or jurors were in the room during the bond hearing. Instead, many of the essential legal figures in the trial held court proceedings via video-calling app Zoom. Judge Christopher Nash presided over the hearing, and by extension the Zoom group call.

However, as experienced as Judge Nash may have been in legal matters, he was nowhere near as efficient at maintaining a professional environment via Zoom video. Within a few minutes of

the hearing commencing, hackers found a way to take advantage of the technologically challenged judge.

Two Zoom users by the aliases of ‘CNN’ and ‘BBC’ took control of the stream, interrupting lawyers with loud clips and causing general calamity in the virtual courtroom. By impersonating press and media professionals, these ‘Zoombombers’ managed to end the stream within 25 minutes, flooding the screen with porn clips until the Judge ended the hearing early.

Despite his position of legal authority, Judge Nash seemed to be helpless in preventing the hackers from disrupting court. After initial interruptions, the Judge closed the stream temporarily, before reopening it to further hacks.

“I’ll apologise to everybody for that display…I was removing people as quickly as I could,” Judge Christopher Nash responded after a PornHub sex video was displayed in open court.

The hearing had to be suspended before any decisions were made regarding the defendant’s bond. No new date has been set for the next trial.
